Fleet Depots

Overnight AC banks and opportunity DC for vans, trucks and buses.

Typical charging set

Depot charging is a power-budget problem, not a product problem: we design staggered-start AC banks against your supply capacity and add 80-240 kW DC opportunity chargers for mid-day top-ups. The depot scheduler, uptime SLA and spare-parts kit ship with the hardware.

Every set below is a starting point: send the site layout and power budget and our engineers adjust power tiers, connector mix and backend integration to the project.

AC or DC: how to choose

  • AC 7-22 kW – for vehicles parked three hours or more (overnight, shift gaps, office hours). Lowest cost per socket, and gentle on a limited supply when combined with dynamic load management.
  • DC 80-640 kW – for sub-hour turnarounds, mid-day top-ups and mixed fleets with unpredictable arrival times.
  • Most depots combine both – an AC base covers the schedule, one DC unit absorbs the exceptions.

Charging under a power constraint

Most depot questions are supply questions. The number that decides the design is the kVA you can commit to charging, not the number of vehicles you own. These are the levers we build into the hardware, so a limited connection still turns a full fleet.

  • Dynamic load balancing – the ET101 family reads incoming current and caps the whole bank at the ceiling you set. Add a vehicle and the share per socket drops; one leaves and the rest recover.
  • Staggered start – vehicles returning across the evening do not all draw peak at the same minute. Scheduling is set per socket from the OCPP backend.
  • Power sharing on dual-gun cabinets – one 120-240 kW unit splits its output between two guns, so a second bay does not need a second full feeder.
  • Reserved headroom – we size the distribution board for the finished site even when only part of it is installed in year one, so later phases are an install job, not a redesign.

If your supply genuinely cannot carry the fleet you are planning, the assessment says so. We specify and quote the switchgear and cables that are ours to supply; grid-side upgrades sit with your network operator, and we do not price work we do not do.

From site brief to daily operation

  1. Site and power brief – you send the layout, supply capacity and duty cycle.
  2. Load and parking assessment – we size the socket count and power tiers against your breaker budget.
  3. Configuration and quotation – models, connector mix, cable lengths and options fixed in writing.
  4. Installation and commissioning support – wiring diagrams, test checklist and remote-guided start-up.
  5. Platform integration and after-sales – OCPP / ET-CLOUD onboarding, uptime SLA and spare-parts kit.
Depot FAQ

Questions depot buyers ask before ordering

How much supply capacity does a depot actually need?
Start from committed kVA, not vehicle count. A 22 kW AC socket draws up to 22 kVA while a vehicle charges, but with dynamic load balancing the bank never exceeds the ceiling you set, so one supply carries more sockets than the arithmetic suggests – it only lengthens the time each vehicle needs. Send the incoming capacity and the shift pattern and we size both.
Can we build in phases if the connection is limited today?
Yes, and it is the usual route. Specify the distribution board for the finished site, install the chargers for the fleet you have tonight. AC sockets add one at a time; a dual-gun DC cabinet gives a second bay from the same feeder through internal power sharing.
Do the AC and DC units report to one backend?
All EVSETOP hardware ships on OCPP 1.6J, with 2.0.1 on request, and we integration-test against your platform before the pilot batch. Mixed AC and DC on one site report to the same tenant, so scheduling and reporting stay in one place.
What lead time should a depot order plan around?
Sample units ship in 5-7 working days. Standard production runs 15-25 days depending on quantity and connector mix. Programs that need new enclosure tooling typically land in 90 days.
What happens when a charger fails overnight?
3-year standard warranty on AC units and 2 years on DC power modules, extendable. Logged failures get an advance replacement within 48 hours, and we size a recommended spare-parts kit to your fleet so a common failure does not wait on a shipment.
Do you provide the certification documents for our market?
CE, TUV and CB cover most of EMEA; UL and Energy Star for North America; CQC for China. Tell us the destination country and we confirm the exact scheme and the remaining validity of each report before you commit.
